WaterWise at Ewing Irrigation!

Last week was the quarterly meeting of the Georgia WaterWise Council in Canton, Georgia (July 23, 2013).  After the meeting Tom Shannon showed us around Ewing Irrigation.  Tom recently won the Phil Karr Water Wise Award that recognizes an individual that has made a great contribution to water conservation in Georgia.  Essentially, it is a lifetime achievement award.  We were honored to have him show us around!  Plus, aside from giving your landscape a “Sprinkler Spruce Up”, there is no better way to celebrate “Smart Irrigation Month” than to learn about an irrigation company that has been around for 90 years.

Thank you Ewing Irrigation and Tom Shannon for being good stewards of water here in Georgia!

This product can dry up a ball field after a gully washer rain storm! It is a giant sponge! That would come in handy with all the rain we have had lately.

Ewing does a lot of educational programs. In fact, many of the materials Tom helped to create were used regionally to prepare the irrigation education brochures created by the Metro North Georgia Water Planning District.

July is “Smart Irrigation Month”. We had a lot of rain this year. Nature is the best irrigator.

Nature might be the best irrigator, but she doesnt always cooperate. A large section of the store is devoted to drip irrigation.
